Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras visits Neorion Shipyards - Meeting with the President and CEO of ONEX Group, Mr. Panos Xenokostas

The Greek Premier Alexis Tsipras visited on Friday, August 24^th, 2018 the Neorion Shipyards, Ermoupoli, Syros, Greece and during his visit had a private meeting with Mr. Panos Xenokostas, President & CEO of ONEX Group, the officers of the shipyards’ administration and the union of workers’ administration.

During the meeting the latest developments and the next steps for the rescue of the historic shipyards were discussed.

Following the meeting with Mr. Xenokostas in a speech towards the shipyards’ workers, the Prime Minister stated that “Neorion will soon become the backbone of the Cyclades Islands economy” and praised it as an example of “healthy entrepreneurship” as well as of “trust and solidarity between employers and workers”.
